Dear Lord,

Thank You for guiding us through another successful night of silencing voices and gutting truth.

​

We rejoice in Your name as we ban books we’ve never read, fire teachers who care too much, and call it morality.

Thank You for helping us replace literature with fear, identity with shame, and history with something more flattering.

 

Forgive the students who still ask questions, we’re working on them.

Forgive the queer kids who still want to feel seen, we’re erasing them as fast as we can.

And forgive the exhausted teachers, we’ll be replacing them shortly.

Strengthen our resolve as we demonize critical thinking, dismantle diversity, and label compassion as a political agenda. Keep us firm in our belief that indoctrination is only bad when someone else does it.

​

May every banned book burn quietly in the minds of children too scared to be themselves. And may the only stories left be ones where no one asks ‘Why?’
